Knowing that reaching and teaching the next generation is critical for the continuation of the church of Jesus Christ, Community takes this area of its ministry very seriously.
From a traditional, graded Sunday School each Sunday to our Awana program each Wednesday night during the school year, age appropriate classes and activities are available for children from age three up through the sixth grade. Sunday morning Children’s Church is dismissed from the Sunday Morning Worship Service where they meet to have a church service specially suited to their needs. Our church offers a kids devotional booklet to help children develop a habit of daily devotions at a young age. You can find out more about Keys for Kids here @
Each summer there are a couple of highlights in our children's ministry. One is Vacation Bible School (see pictures from our last VBS on our church photo site at www.communitybaptist.shutterfly.com) for ages four years through sixth grade. The other is summer camp at The Wilds Christian Camp (www.wilds.org) for the upper elementary grades (fourth through sixth). Parents won't have to coax their child to be a part of these exciting, but spiritually profitable activities. Also available during the summertime is our Wednesday Night Super Clubs, a teaching program that is administered by our college age young people.
Another important ministry to children and their parents is our nursery (infant through 2 years), which is open for all church services. Large, clean, and well-staffed by caring workers, the nursery is a place where parents can feel good about leaving their little ones.
